Privacy Policy
Snarkpaws Co. (“Snarkpaws,” “we,” “us”) takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what your rights are. We try to keep it readable; we are not going to throw a wall of capitalised lawyer-speak at you.
1. Information we collect
- Order information. Name, shipping and billing address, email, phone number, items purchased, and shipping method. You give us this when you place an order through our Shopify checkout.
- Payment information. Processed by Shopify Payments and/or your chosen payment provider (PayPal, Apple Pay, Shop Pay). We never see or store your full card number.
- Communications. If you subscribe to our newsletter, email us, or contact support, we keep the email address you give us and a record of our exchange.
- Usage data. Standard web analytics — pages visited, time on site, referring URL, device and browser type — collected via privacy-friendly tooling (Plausible) and, if you arrived from an ad, a Meta or Pinterest pixel for conversion measurement.
2. How we use it
- Fulfill and ship your order via our print partner (Printify).
- Send transactional emails (order confirmation, shipping tracking, return updates).
- Send marketing emails — only if you opted in. You can unsubscribe with the link in every email.
- Improve the store (which designs sell, which pages convert, where checkout breaks).
- Comply with tax, accounting, and legal obligations.
3. Who we share it with
We only share data with the service providers that make this store work:
- Shopify — store, checkout, and order management.
- Printify — receives your name, shipping address, and items so they can print and ship your tee.
- Klaviyo (or our newsletter ESP) — if you opted into emails.
- Plausible / Meta / Pinterest — anonymised usage and ad-conversion signals.
- Shipping carriers — USPS, UPS, or DHL, whoever moves your package.
We do not sell your data. We do not rent it. We do not hand it to affiliate networks who use it to follow you around the internet.
4. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies for the cart, login session, and analytics. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; the store will still load but the cart will not persist across visits.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Request a copy of the data we hold on you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Object to its processing for marketing.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Email hi@snarkpaws.com with your request and we will reply within 30 days (45 for residents of the European Economic Area).
5a. GDPR (EU / UK residents)
If you are an EEA or UK resident, we process your personal data on the following lawful bases under Article 6 of the GDPR:
- Contract performance — order processing, shipping, customer service. We cannot fulfil your order without your address and contact details.
- Legitimate interests — fraud prevention, site analytics, and improving the catalog. You can object to this processing at any time by emailing us.
- Consent — marketing emails, optional cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time from the email footer or the cookie banner.
We transfer personal data to processors outside the EEA (Shopify Inc. in Canada, Printify Inc. in the United States). Both transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission. Shopify and Printify act as our Data Processors and are bound by Data Processing Agreements that limit their use of your data to providing the platform and fulfilment services we have contracted with them.
5b. CCPA / CPRA (California residents)
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and its 2023 amendments, California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioural advertising except through the Meta Pixel and Pinterest Tag, which you can opt out of by emailing hi@snarkpaws.com with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share” or by enabling the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser.
6. Data retention
Order records are kept for 7 years for tax purposes. Newsletter subscribers are kept until they unsubscribe. Analytics data is aggregated and retained for 24 months.
7. Children
Snarkpaws is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
8. Changes
If we update this policy in a meaningful way, we'll change the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes, email subscribers a heads-up.
